The Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island is pleased to offer the specialist services of Noelle La Croix, DVM, and Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology. Dr. La Croix was raised in Queens and is delighted to be practicing in New York.

In 1997, Dr. La Croix graduated second in her class from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine with academic distinctions including outstanding performance in ophthalmology. She went on to complete an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The Animal Medical Center in Manhattan, after which she spent two years practicing as an emergency and critical care veterinarian on Long Island.

Dr. La Croix completed her ophthalmology residency with Eye Care for Animals in Phoenix, Arizona and subsequently was accepted as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2004. She joined VMCLI after practicing as an associate ophthalmologist with Animal Ophthalmology Clinic in Dallas, Texas. There she gained valuable experience in diverse techniques including glaucoma valve surgery and high frequency ocular ultrasonography.

Since 2005, Dr. La Croix has also been an active consultant for Veterinary Information Network (VIN) answering ophthalmology questions for veterinarians nationwide.  Dr. La Croix has published papers and reviews in journals such as JAVMA, Clinical Techniques in Small Animal Practice, Veterinary Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine.  She is currently editing the ophthalmology section of a small animal clinical anatomy textbook by Dr. M. S. A. Kumar of Tufts University.  Dr. La Croix’s special interests include uveitis, glaucoma, and feline diseases. In addition to small animals, she is also experienced in all aspects of equine, exotic, and zoo animal ophthalmology.

Dr. La Croix has an excellent reputation in regard to patient care, client relationships, and communications with family veterinarians. These abilities complement the high standards of care set by the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island. Dr. La Croix resides on Long Island with her husband Jay, and she enjoys serving the Long Island community.
