Erika L. Friedrich, BVetMed, MRCVS
Dr. Erika Friedrich is a native New Yorker who received her Bachelor of Science degree from Union College in 1999, and her veterinary degree from The Royal Veterinary College, University of London, in 2005. She completed a Rotating Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at The Center for Specialized Veterinary Care in Westbury, New York, where she was honored as the “Intern of the Year”. She has spent most of her career in emergency medicine, including being Head of Emergency & Critical Care Services at another Long Island Referral Facility from 2008. She joined the emergency team at the VMCLI in 2011, and most recently assumed the role of Lead Emergency Clinician. Dr. Friedrich’s professional interests lie in emergency medicine and cardiology.
In addition to emergency medicine, she has been selected for the past several years as an Iditarod sled-dog race veterinarian to help keep the sled dogs healthy during their trek.
Outside of work she enjoys running, bicycling, swimming, and, of course, following the New York Yankees. She also enjoys all sports and pretty much any activity that requires hand-eye coordination.
